1. Service overview
BookOS provides software for bookkeeping, accounting, and financial planning. The platform offers automation, AI-generated suggestions, automatic receipt scanning, and reporting tools. You remain responsible for financial decisions, filings, and compliance.
2. Important disclaimers
Not professional advice. BookOS is a software tool and does not provide tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice. The information and outputs generated by the platform are for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as a substitute for consultation with qualified professionals. You should consult with a licensed CPA, tax advisor, or attorney for advice specific to your situation. BookOS is not a licensed accounting firm, CPA practice, or registered investment advisor. We are an independent software company and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a subsidiary of any financial institution or payment processor.
3. Accounts and access
You must provide accurate registration information, maintain secure credentials, and control access to your workspace. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use the platform in compliance with applicable laws and not to attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or misuse the service.
5. Fees and billing
Subscription fees and usage-based charges are due according to your plan. Taxes may apply. Plan details, usage limits, and pricing are described in our Pricing section and within the product experience. If you reach a limit, we may pause or throttle features until the limit resets or you upgrade. We do not charge overage fees unless we explicitly disclose them at purchase. Failure to pay may result in suspension.
6. Refunds
Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or where a refund policy is expressly provided for a specific plan or promotion.
7. AI assistance
AI features provide suggestions and summaries. You must review and approve postings and decisions before they impact your books or filings. Auto-posting is optional, threshold-based, and can be restricted by policy controls. AI outputs do not constitute professional advice.
8. Your responsibilities
You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of all data, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations (including IRS requirements, state tax obligations, and GAAP where applicable), and making timely filings. BookOS facilitates record-keeping but does not file taxes or regulatory reports on your behalf.
9. Limitation of liability
BookOS is provided on an "as is" basis to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including but not limited to penalties, interest, or damages arising from tax filing errors, missed deadlines, or reliance on AI-generated suggestions.
10. Termination
You may cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms. Data export options are available subject to retention policies.
11. Changes to terms
We may update these terms to reflect product changes or legal requirements. We will provide notice of material changes and the effective date.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Delaware.
